oh yes, that would be celebrations starting to welcome in a new year (thank god!) and a new decade. In 1989 I was about to finish school and embark on adulthood, 1999 I was about to embark on married life, 2009 I am about to embark on ....who knows but hope it is something equally life changing and exciting.. Happy New Year everyone!

Xmas forgiveness

I hope you all will understand and grant me some xmas and new decade forgiveness in my blogging slacker-ness as the electronic gods were against me for the month of December as not only did my computer pass on but also my darling mimoo decided to mash my digital camera in a tub of playdoh whilst the lens was open and then decided she would be busted with it like that so closed the lens and hid it, with said playdoh drying and make the lens unopenable...the mind of a 2 year old is more sinister than I imagined, THEN my mobile phone decided to pack up...heavens.

plus not to mention a very sick little mimoo having to battle with her birthday celebrations and xmas all in one week, poor little lamb was exhausted from all that present opening and sugar intake...but anywhoos all is restored now and lovely santa/mr mimoo sorted a shiny new above for moi, yeay! I feel very carrie bradshaw-esque.(not)

I hope you all had a very joyous xmas and I for one cannot wait to ring in 2010. what about you?

Mimoo HQ is back!

well sadly my beloved apple imac died a slow painful death and it has taken me a few weeks to accept this tragic news... and until I get a new one sorted and I will be 'sharing' with mr mimoo computer and as I lost all my photos and music I have been left feeling a little naked and not blog worthy.

However in my absence I was awarded a lovely award from Brusselsprouts! Thanks Mrs Brusselsprouts, I will think of my answers today and 7 others to pass it onto.

(ps people go to dick smith and buy a mini hard drive and back up your computer!!! I lost everything but am very lucky that mr mimoo had copy of all the photos on his computer. sadly however all my 'cool' music has been lost-although I think mr mimoo is quite happy about that )

Wednesday cuteness

As you know, my love of cute stuff from Japan knows no boundaries so yet again I did a little late night online shopping over at World of Kawaii. With christmas soon to be upon us I bought some little things for my nieces who are stationary and babushka doll crazy. How cute is the little babushka doll key cover??? Have been to Japan just this April I knew the prices roughly of many of the items and unlike alot of japanese things on etsy they are really reasonably priced!!! so check it out

Mathildas market wrap up

It is funny how manic and exhausting some markets can be but then you realise they go for half a day!! Mathilda's market was once again a successful day for mimoo and it far surpassed my expectations sales wise but as the crowd was a large number I did not get to chat to many customers as it was so frenzied. I thought my table at one stage was going to topple over!! I only got a quick crowd shot because as you can see I was blocked in by market goers. I was glad in the end to have an early set up time as it meant I could get around and say hello to a few friends and meet a few bloggers I follow, which is always great!

I am back out again this weekend over at the Boutique markets (overexposure anyone?) so if you are local come on over and say hi.

Speaking of Mathilda's, I received an email newsletter from the madeit.com.au gang yesterday and they had an interview with the organiser of these markets and I really loved the answer she gave below. Check out the full interview over here.

A random act of kindness

I heard a knock at the door this morning and it was the lovely elderly man who lives next door to us presenting me with these!!! How great is that....they are from his garden and it just goes to show that one random act of kindness can really make someones day or even week...I hope to do that to someone someday:-))

mimoo hearts Japanese fabric

The lovely Jacqui over at Meeabee recently emailed mimoo HQ asking if we would like anything as she was going into town on her own to visit some craft stores. As a fellow mum I appreciate this so much as I know how little time Jacqui gets to herself and for her to think of others on her 'off' time is a reflection of what a nice person she is. plus she has got some really cute kids to boot!  

Now of course I jumped at the chance and Jacqui just sent me this package filled with goodies... I am so excited and I cannot decide which on is my favourite...which is yours? thanks Jacqui x

little mimoo is up to no good again...

I remember when I was little that sometimes my mum would just look at me and know that I had done something wrong and I used think 'how did she know that just be looking at me?' well now I am that mum and when I am approached with the above pose I know something is up! something to do with the unrolling several toilet papers rolls......

plus I just wanted to capture my newest little creations from my recent late night online shopping ! I think they turned out quite cute as I found this pattern at my mums' which was a pattern of shorts that she had made for me when I was this age using only 1/2 yard of fabric. I had a little chuckle when I saw the price of the pattern was 75c!!!

Tuesday toot toot

I am tooting the mimoo HQ horn today as I have been working extremely hard on some new sets of jammies for the summer xmas markets. I dont really list that many jammies online as I find they sell best at markets but I will be listing more on my madeit.com.au shop very soon. 

These are one of the new sets and some of my new range of boardies I will be selling this xmas so get in quick especially for the red stars as I am almost sold out!!! ps If anyone has some good tips on photographing products please let me know as alot of it is trail and error at the moment!

Check out these 2 lovely features on my friend Jacqui's Mee a Bee products and blog!!!  As you might remember on  my recent visit to Japan I met up with Jacqui as she kindly offered to show me around some of Osaka's fabric places.  We had a great time (no way long enough) but as my brother lives there I hope it will not be the last time we meet, although she may be too busy for me on my next running her Mee a Bee empire!!

Brisbane's Stylish crafters

As you know I am apart of a lovely group of talented ladies (no men yet!?) called BrisStyle. We had a Christmas market last year which was a huge success so a winter market a must, which was also a hugh success so yes we are having another Christmas one this year on December 5th.  Then next year we are taking it to the streets a MASSIVE 4 times!!! grrrrr due to this dreadful dusty and windy weather I have been suffering badly with terrible hayfever, so my apologies for lack of posts, but I have got myself onto some seriously damn fine drugs and am almost feeling normal again, so will post me this week. I hope everyone else weeks have been fine???

Have you ever had to give anything up that was difficult?

Yes, you guessed it- smoking! I always thought I looked like Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's but then I realised I didn't and I would end up like the below..... I smoked for almost 15 glorious years and god how I miss it. I so so loved it and I was very good at it too, if you have never smoked you will never fully understand why it is so hard to kick the habit once and for all. 

It isn't just about the physical act of inhaling filthy dangerous chemicals into your body, it is about smoko breaks, comraderie with other smokers at partys and clubs, telling others 'ah you could get hit by a bus tomorrow' excuses, having fun memories of nightclubbing and backpacking/travelling in your youth that you associate with smoking, THAT is the hardest to kick. ( but I am so so so glad I did!)
